How Make Chin-Chin

Make chin chin can be a way for the ladies of the house to form a bonding moment. Chin chin is a Nigerian snack, and a great table snack for visitors and for a movie night instead of popcorn. Here is how I make mine, do enjoy make it.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • vegetable oil

Directions:

  1. Combine flour, sugar, and baking powder in medium bowl.
  2. Stir in egg and milk until mixture is crumbly.
  3. With hands, work in butter until well blended.
  4. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  5. In heavy skillet over medium heat, heat 1 inch of oil to 365 degrees F.
  6. On lightly floured board with floured rolling pin, roll out half of dough to 1/16 inch thickness.
  7. With pastry cutter or sharp knife, cut dough into 3 x 2 inch diamonds.
  8. 8  Make a slit in center of each diamond and pull an end through the slit.
  9. Repeat with remaining dough until gone.
  10. 10 Fry a few pieces at a time in hot oil until golden; drain on paper towels; cool.
Let it cool and it is ready to be served

Enjoy!!

Old School is back!

Today was an awesome day!! had fun in church and later went window shopping with one of ma chica lol, notice i said window shopping I ended up coming back with three most needed shoes in my closet. some summer comfys, also picked out an outfit for my chica (remember my chica from above :) ) This are some of the pictures for today with a little explanation of the outfits.

Blessing (cute purse), Bose, Me and Ayomide (my chica)
Ayomide was keeping it cool today she wear a pink inner and paired it with a casual jeans a black jacket and some neutral colors and a pearl necklace for accessories! and her ever lovely teal purse and nude sandals to go. Cool Temper

Tres Amigas

Blessing in the burgundy dress marched it with a lovely grey purse from D&G and some cute flats( grey also) sorry it's not shown. she accessorized it with gold classy earrings > Simply Gorgeous
Bose in the gold and black, stunningly showing off that great smile of hers :). she also paired it with gold dangling earrings, a black chic purse and black pumps > Way to spice it up!! #POW
As for me, i went digging in the back of my closet in search of this lol. it came out nicely. I had a fun vintage skirt with a touch of gold on the inner and a black Victorian light jacket. I had a vision in my head which was amazing!! giggles. I tend to play with colors too these days. > Trend setter.

Jide and me

Here my adorable not so little anymore cousin (how they grow so fast jeez! seems like yesterday I was been introduced to this ball of comedy, now he is almost taller than me, chai, chineke!! it is not easy at all ohh). Anyways, he decided to join the group of color blocking, he paired a redish blaser with his grayish-brown pants which looked totally whoa on him, and a white stripped shirt with a white pair of shoes. and he blinded me with a matching tie!! > Awesome Color Blocking Cuz!!

Had to get it in Black and White, defines it :)

Me once again. well after all this photo snapping, i decided to go window shopping later as i mention above and picked an adorable blue dress for my chica, I tend to pick good outfit for other, but picking mine seem a bit difficult (happens all the time).

Ayomide
After window shopping (covering my face ohh), i don't think i should call it window shopping, since i bought some things!! :(

Had to get this summer lovelies White, Tan and Black!! they are so comfy!

And i must not forget my special babe!! Damilola or Lola as she liked to be called :)
She also went color blocking today ohh, she paired three cool colors together, trending a brown jacket, pink shirt and a navy blue cropped like Capri pants ( cute!!). Then to top it off, she iced it out with a dazzling sparkling shoes ( I am coming to get, shoot!! you ain't my size, you are lucky ohh sha!) and sliver necklace and pearls earrings( you can never go wrong with it). > Swagger Jacker.

I have to go guys, if u read this all, awww I really appreciate it. Sorry I forgot myself a lot jare (Jare - Yoruba expression for different meaning of things).
